It has been more than 3 years since Takaharu Hayashi, Japan, and Jeffrey Sandford, U.S., founded WOVN.io in Tokyo. Since then, we have gone from 2 people to almost 30, changed offices 3 times, pivoted, acquired some users, fixed bugs, gotten great feedback and gained even more users. With plenty of ups and downs along the way, we are now all very proud to start our global expansion from Autumn 2017.
Until now, we were mainly focused on the Japanese market, collaborating with nationally renowned brands such as Shibuya 109, United Arrows, HIS, Ichiran Ramen, Bandai and DeNA or regional Governments to promote events such as Surfing Competitions.
Since acquiring Series B funding in December 2016 (featured in English on Slator, The Bridge, e27 and Tech in Asia), we doubled our overall team, created a specific team for our international expansion and have reached over 10,000 users!
It’s easy to forget, especially if you are an English speaker, that the rest of the world will browse the internet in their native language. Our goal is to tear down language barriers and make the internet a place for everyone.
WOVN.io is a website localization service; it enables you to multilingualize your website in less than 5 minutes without the help of a developer. For questions or comments, please click here.
